After the latest update, the Chaos Compass meta in Diablo IV has shifted dramatically Diablo 4 gold. The once-hated Soul Tower is now one of the best options, while Demonic Spawn has fallen out of favor. Here's a quick breakdown of the highest-value affix combinations you should pick to maximize your Compass efficiency.

    1. White Affixes
Best Choices: Blood Tower, Noble Fiend. These provide Soul Tower +3 and Fiend +2, offering excellent returns.
Alternative: Fiend Legion — a decent backup if the above don't appear.

    2. Yellow Affixes
Top Pick: Cruel Overlord — only available after selecting the orange affix Massive Fiend.
Next Best: Precious Tower, Noble Demon Tide
    Last Option: Gathered Matter

    3. Orange Affixes
Best Option: Swollen Matter. Not entirely sure how it's calculated, but testing shows extremely high Ether gains after each wave.
    Alternatives: Treasure Tower, Massive Fiend

    4. Unique (Gold) Affixes
    Ether Goblin
Spawns roughly two goblins per wave. Pick this if none of the higher-tier options appear.

    5. Purple Affixes
    Chaos Tribute (Must Pick)
Has a chance to trigger a full-screen Goblin event, dropping thousands of Ether — pure chaos and pure profit.
If both Chaos Tribute and Swollen Matter appear in the first or second wave, prioritize Swollen Matter for more consistent returns.

    Summary
The current high-yield affix strategy still revolves around Soul Tower and Fiend modifiers. If neither appears, go for Ether Matter–related affixes, as they also have a chance to spawn Fiends. As for Demonic Spawn, testing shows it's underperforming this season — skip it.

    Efficiency Tip
If your goal is mainly Farming Chaos Legendaries, choose an 8-Wave Compass — it reliably nets around 666 Ether per run. The 10-Wave Compass gives slightly better rewards but takes too long to be efficient Chaos uniques item.
